Gift Guide: Female-Owned Businesses

Gift Guide: Female-Owned Businesses

It is time to turn my attention to the best part of the holiday season! Apart from the food and spending time with family, my favorite this about this time of year is…the gifting! I love the feeling of finding the perfect little something for everybody on my list, so I’ve put together a gift guide for you.

This year, I’m making a commitment to support my female-owned businesses. They deserve all the attention we can give them! Here are some of my favorite companies that I’m proud to support, along with a few suggestions for what I’ll be gifting this year. Hopefully, they’ll be the perfect gift for someone on your list!

A delicious room spray

Kate Walsh, an amazing actress in her own right, started Boyfriend Perfumes almost ten years ago. This year, the Boyfriend Room Spray is one of my go-to gifts. Everyone always appreciates an air freshener that’s unique – and a little more luxe than those drugstore aerosols… This one is scented with vanilla and sandalwood that’s warm and inviting, exactly the kind of feeling you want in your home!

A new signature scent

Alyse Parfum was started by Kendra Alyse Bollenbach, inspired by the classic timelessness of French perfumeries – and a goal of empowering women. I’m a big fan of their signature Coquette and Cherí fragrances. It would be such a great gift for anyone who still hasn’t found their own go-to scent.

Feel-good makeup brushes

Anisa Beauty was founded by Anisa Telwar Kaicker, a longtime powerhouse in the beauty industry. Their focus is sustainable manufacturing and helping women look – and feel! – their absolute best. On my list this year? One of their curated brush sets! I think they would be perfect for any beauty maven in your life!

The best bags

Deborah Sawaf launched Thalé Blanc in 2010, inspired by classical art to create her stunning and truly one-of-a-kind handbags. While I’ve got a few styles on my own personal wish list this season, I have my eye on the Audrey Day Bag for some of my girlfriends. It’s the perfect spacious and functional everyday bag!

A cozy sweater

Elana Carello’s sweaters were a staple of the ‘90s, and I’m so happy that the designer recently relaunched her knitwear line! I’m obsessed with all of the monochrome styles in her Fall 2019 collection. Everybody loves a sweater for the holidays, so you know any of these styles would be so well appreciated.

Time of the month-proof underwear

Lilova’s Period-Proof Underwear seems almost too good to be true. Founded by a postpartum mom, this lineup of super comfortable and flattering panties are designed to be worn, you know…that time of the month! Imagine, no pads? NO tampons? They’re nothing short of amazing! For any woman on your list, they make a really really thoughtful gift.

Pretty beauty kits

Petra Strand is the name and the makeup artist behind Pixi Beauty, which she started based on her passion for happy and healthy skincare. Plus, she’s a busy working mom! The brand’s curated kits combine the best of makeup and skincare, so they’re ready for gifting straight away.

A time-saving blow-drying brush

Drybar’s Double Shot Blow Drying Brush is one of the most innovative hair tools I’ve ever seen. You’re probably familiar with Drybar, but do you know the story behind it? Alli Webb started the salon as a quick and accessible way to get the perfect blowout fast. Their tools like these make that so much easier to do at home! I’ll be gifting this brush to the busy lady on my list who’s always short on time!

Sculpting beauty sticks to make contouring a snap

NUDESTIX was founded by a trio of a mother and her two daughters, who believe in simple and natural-looking beauty. I’m a big fan of their easy-to-use sculpting sticks because they make a quick contour and highlight just so easy. When you’re pressed for time, what could be better? I know anybody on my list would be really excited to try a few.

Vegan skincare

Want a trip to the dermatologist right from home? It’s time to discover Arilan Skincare! Founded by top Beverly Hills dermatologist Ronit Falevitch her line of high-quality skincare is based on the same treatments she provides in her office. Imagine, a healthy youthful glow with just a few minutes in your bathroom? I’m all about it, and I know my loved ones will be too!

Super unique shoes

Shelley Tichbourne launched Mou Shoes in 2002, since she was looking for unique and comfortable shoes that worked seamlessly into her busy London lifestyle. Mou’s boots and sneakers are so fluffy and comfortable, you seriously won’t want to take them off. The Eskimo Lace-up Trainers are so unique – and really Instagrammable!

New additions to a skincare routine

Dimitra Davidson left a career in the business world to launch Indeed Labs Skincare, and hasn’t looked back! The brand’s skincare is really really gentle too, so it’s great for pretty much every skin type. I think any of their gentle products would work so well in any skincare regimen.

The healthiest meal subscription

When you’re living a hectic lifestyle, who seriously has time to cook? That was the problem that Methodology founder Julie Nguyen had. She didn’t have enough time to shop and cook the foods that worked for her. That’s why she launched her program of healthy and easy to cook meal plans, instead of relying on fast food. I’m gifting a subscription to Methodology for a few of the folks on my wishlist, especially the ones who already love to cook!

Multitasking makeup

Entrepreneur Divya Gugnani and former model Lindsay Ellingson started Wander Beauty as a way to develop makeup that worked more like skincare – meaning the products would help perfect your skin every time you used them. I think a few of their ready-to-go kits make perfect gifts this year.

What are some of your go-to gifts? Extra points if they’re from a female-owned business! 😉

  1. What a great idea to have a list of gifts from female-owned businesses. I love the sweater especially but I’m going to take a look at all their stores.
