How to Throw a Virtual Baby Shower

How to Throw a Virtual Baby Shower

I’ve been making the most of this new normal and celebrating all kinds of big events and holidays in quarantine, baby shower included. ❤️ 2 years ago I hosted a big baby shower at my home and last week I hosted a virtual baby shower and guess what?? I had a blast at both!! Here’s how to throw a virtual baby shower that is stress-free and fun!

The Venue

Keep it simple and host it from your home where you know the wifi is reliable. Be sure to find an area with good lighting so everyone can see you. And you may be sitting for a while, so make sure you are comfortable!

What to Wear

Wear a bump-friendly style that shows off your beautiful figure. I’m all about bodycon dresses and bump flattering maxi dresses.  Be wary of anything too short, you don’t want to give people a free show! Pink Blush Maternity, Motherhood Maternity and Avishag Arbel Maternity all have beautiful dresses that are wallet-friendly. I’m also a Rent the Runway Unlimited subscriber and I’ve been renting some really beautiful maternity dresses.  Use my code STUARTPERK40 for a discount off of 1 Swap or 2 Swap Rent the Runway memberships.

There are some super cute baby shower kits online that are very affordable. I suggest blowing up some balloons and placing them behind you to spice things up. It’s your special day, if you want to go all out go for it!! There’s a wide variety of It’s a Girl, It’s a Boy and Gender Neutral decorations to choose from on Amazon.

Take Pictures

You got all dressed up and most likely set up some decorations, so why not document this special time!? Have your partner snap some pics before, during and after. And if you’re rolling solo, use that self-timer baby. It will all be worth it!

Set the Time and Place

Whether you choose Zoom, Google Hangouts, Facebook or another platform, make sure you choose a time that is convenient and you send detailed instructions on how to log on and participate.
