5 Reasons to Stay at the Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto

I’m excited to share with you that the Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa, located on the east coast of the Baja Peninsula has reopened. As you know, I had the pleasure of staying there last spring and LOVED IT! When you think of Mexico, you think beautiful beaches, delicious food and maybe a margarita or two.  But I have to say… I don’t think I could have anticipated there was a stunning resort on the Islands of Loreto that would’ve handed me that luxury and more! Away from the hustle and bustle of your hectic life, you can create mindful habits while pampering your mind, body, and spirit through wellness rituals, fitness routines and healthy cuisine at the beautiful Villa del Palmar and Sabila Spa.

5 Reasons to Stay at the Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto:

Sabila Spa

My time was particularly special as this was my first solo trip since becoming a mom.  I was able to take some special time for myself and treat this as my own personal postpartum retreat.  The recovery was so important, and every single detail in my schedule and the attentiveness of the incredible staff truly highlighted that. My massage and time spent at Sabila Spa during their ‘Wellness Week’ was top notch! Here’s a more in-depth look at my amazing experience:

Stunning Location

The resort sits on a sprawling stretch of white-sand beach along Danzante Bay in the Islands of Loreto, where the natural habitat includes 900 species of fish and unspoiled, clear waters. Guests can enjoy world-class sport fishing, swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and seasonal whale watching.  As you can see in my video, I finally saw whales for the very first time and there is truly nothing like being on the open water with the wind in your hair!

Everything you need is on property

The property has six swimming pools, tennis courts, miles of well-marked hiking trails and plenty of open space for social distancing. There are four on-property restaurants, with abundant outdoor seating, in addition to a fully stocked grocery and sundries market. I highly recommend getting out for a long hike or taking a beachside yoga class.  Not only are the views mesmerizing, but you can get in a serious workout!

New health and safety guidelines will be in place throughout the resort.

“We understand that travelers are aware of new social distancing and hygiene protocols and at Villa del Palmar Loreto we’re committed to ensuring a safe environment for our guests, staff and our community. Our guests and co-workers are our most valuable resources—and the focus of our dedication and continued commitment to excellence,” said Sixto Navarro, General Manager. “Guests will notice only slight differences in how we offer our services from a few months ago.  However, we believe these changes will make for a better overall experience.”
In fact, the Resort recently received a Secure Travel Seal from the World Travel & Tourism Council, which allows travelers to be aware of which resorts around the world have adopted global health and hygiene protocols.

Play golf at TPC Danzante Bay

TPC Danzante Bay, the resort’s award-winning Rees Jones designed golf course, has also implemented additional safety measures.  Guests will be asked to handle their own golf clubs and equipment to and from their rooms and the golf course. I hiked around the course and it is truly the most beautiful course I’ve ever seen!

Currently, the resort is offering a 100% Flexible Vacations package that allows guests to cancel plans with no restrictions and full refunds.  Guests may make unlimited modifications with no fees and only a one-night deposit is required. For more information visit https://villadelpalmarloreto.com/specials/100-flexible.

There is also an unlimited golf or spa package, which is available now through December 20, 2020. It’s for three nights (which works well with the Alaska Airlines flight schedule) and includes access to either Sabila Spa or TPC Danzante Bay.

A round of golf can be replaced with spa treatments, a fishing tour, ATV excursion, scuba diving or night paddleboard experience, so there is most definitely something for everyone!  All the package details can be found at unlimitedgolforspapackage.  Reservations can be made by calling toll-free at 800/790-4187 from the United States or Canada, or 800/838-2662 from Mexico.

For my fellow Angelenos, Loreto is only a two-hour flight from LAX via Alaska Airlines; Volaris Airlines offers regular flights from Tijuana to Loreto.
Lodging reservations can be made by calling toll-free at 800/790-4187 from the United States or Canada, or 800/838-2662 from Mexico.
Hope this inspires your wanderlust 🙂
