Now that Asher is eating solids, I’m determined to set a good example. I want him to see me fueling my body with healthy choices (especially since he loves to eat off my plate!). Organic produce is always at the top of my grocery list, and I only buy the best. When I’m at Albertsons, I always like to pick up some of my favorites like fresh Cal-Organic leafy greens, Cal-Organic radishes, and Cal-Organic carrots to have around the house. They make for a quick, easy salad when I’m feeling snacky (see my favorite way to dress them below!). I feel a lot better having Asher see me snacking on healthy veggies than a candy bar.

Albertsons is a pillar of my community, and it’s the same for the communities surrounding their other locations. I’m in Love with the Cal-Organic Process
Do you have any idea what goes into good organic farming? I didn’t! Cal-Organic Farms was kind enough to walk me through the farm where my produce comes from. It was an unbelievable experience, and I’m even surer after having been there that the produce I buy from them is the right choice for my family.
For one thing, they’re constantly innovating. They grow 65 seasonal and year-round varieties, and every season holds a new experiment (rainbow carrots anyone?? Yay!). They have 42,000 acres of certified organic farmland, and they follow each crop from seed all the way to harvest. Only premium products go in the box, so I have complete confidence now that when I buy my Cal-Organic produce, it’s the real freshness deal.
You Can’t Beat That Taste!
Take a look at those gorgeous greens! This is one of my staple salads, using Cal-Organic mustard greens, radishes, and carrots. The mustard greens add an antioxidant punch to an already healthy dish. (They’re packed with vitamins K, A, and C!) It’s super heart-healthy and helps with the body’s natural detoxification process. I’m a big fan of the peppery green taste it adds to my salad, but sometimes I’ll cook it down when adding it to other dishes to soften its taste or add hot vinegar and serve them as a side dish. Growing up in the south, mustard greens were a regular staple in our household.
