The Ultimate Spring Break Packing Guide

The Ultimate Spring Break Packing Guide

Spring break is just around the corner, and whether you’re headed to a tropical beach, a poolside resort, or a sunny coastal town, having the right essentials can make or break your trip! After years of trial and error with my own vacation packing, I’ve finally nailed down the items that I cannot travel without! I’ve rounded up everything you need to look effortlessly chic while staying comfortable and prepared for all your vacation adventures!

The Perfect Swimwear

Let’s start with the most important piece, your swimsuit! I’m obsessed with this pink one-piece from Amazon right now! It’s flattering, fun, and comes in multiple color options so you can grab a few to mix things up throughout your trip. A one-piece is such a versatile choice because it works for everything from beach days to boat excursions to grabbing lunch at a seaside cafe.

Don’t forget a lightweight swimsuit coverup to throw on when you’re transitioning from the pool to other activities. Look for something breezy that won’t stick to wet skin and dries quickly in the sun. I personally love coverups that can double as a casual dress in a pinch because it means less packing overall!

Footwear That Does It All

When it comes to sandals, I always recommend bringing two styles. Flat sandals are essential for walking around, exploring, and those casual beach days. You’ll want something comfortable that you can wear for hours without getting blisters or sore feet. Then pack a pair of wedges for dinners out or any evening plans. Wedges give you that elevated look without the discomfort of traditional heels, and they’re much easier to walk in.

Staying Stylish in the Sun

A great pair of sunglasses is non-negotiable for any spring break trip. Beyond protecting your eyes, they instantly pull any outfit together and hide those tired eyes after late nights out! Invest in a pair that goes with multiple outfits so you’re not constantly switching between different styles.

For daytime outfits, a strapless romper is an absolute game-changer! It’s cute, easy to throw on, and perfect for exploring or grabbing brunch with friends. The strapless design means no awkward tan lines, and you can dress it up or down depending on your plans. Pair it with your flat sandals for daytime adventures and swap to wedges for evening activities.

Flowy linen pants are another must-pack item because they keep you cool in the heat while looking polished and put-together. The breathable fabric is a lifesaver in warmer weather, and they’re perfect for evening strolls or nicer dinners when you want to cover up a bit.

Elastic jean shorts are another must-have for me! They’re comfortable, go with everything from tank tops to cute blouses, and that stretchy waistband is a blessing after an indulgent vacation meal!

Travel Gear Worth the Investment

For luggage, I’m loving this three-piece hardshell set. Having matching luggage not only looks put-together at the airport but hardshell cases protect your belongings so much better than soft bags. They’re easier to clean, resist water and stains, and keep everything secure! Plus, a set means you have options depending on the length of your trip, whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or an extended vacation.

A high-quality beach tote is another essential, and this straw lightweight tote is my favorite! It’s roomy enough for all your beach essentials like sunscreen, a book, snacks, and your phone, yet it looks super cute.

Skincare You Cannot Skip

Last but definitely not least, sunscreen! Please don’t skip this step no matter how tempting it is to chase a tan! EltaMD is my holy grail oil-free face sunscreen, and I refuse to travel without it. It doesn’t leave that greasy residue or break you out, which is so important when you’re wearing it every single day of your trip. The lightweight formula sits beautifully under makeup if you choose to wear any, and it provides protection without that chalky white cast. Your future self will thank you for prioritizing sun protection, trust me!

Overall

The key to great vacation packing is choosing pieces that work together and can be mixed and matched throughout your trip. Everything on this list is versatile enough to create multiple outfits while keeping your suitcase manageable and organized! Focus on quality basics in complementary colors and you’ll never feel like you have nothing to wear.
