5 Ways to Start the Day Right!

5 Ways to Start the Day Right!

I’m working hard to start each and every day filled with happiness, energy and optimism!  I am NOT a morning person, so this is generally the opposite of how I feel (just ask my husband).  Really and truly no matter how much sleep I get or what time I go to bed, I never want to physically get out of bed.  However I started a new routine with the new year and it is really working!

Here are 5 Ways to Start the Day Right:

1. Get up the first time

This one is SO important!  Resist the temptation to push snooze.  It might feel better at that moment, but really you just torture yourself for another twenty minutes somewhere between sleep and consciousness.  Set you alarm for when you really need to get up and then get the hell up!

2. Don’t check your email or social media

I know this probably makes you angry, but when you immediately check your email you throw yourself into a frenzied ‘there is so much to do’ state of mind.  Check your email when it it time to begin work. And please don’t scroll Instagram before you even get out of bed 🙂

3. Move your body

The best thing you can do for your body is to get it moving in the morning.  Whether that means hitting the gym or doing some gentle stretching, your body will appreciate it.  Here’s a 2 minute morning routine I created for you:

4. Eat breakfast

It doesn’t have to be massive, but you 100% need to eat something!  My favorite thing right now is an acai bowl with berries and kale or ezekiel bread with almond butter.  You can’t expect to function if you don’t fuel your mind and body!

5. Take a few moments to do nothing

Taking a few moments just for you will do wonders!  Better yet, meditate for 5 minutes right after your alarm goes off and set your intentions for the day.  You will find yourself relaxed, focused and ready to take on the day!

Shine bright everyone!!

xoxo

  1. Good web site! I truly love how it is easy on my eyes and the data are well written. I am wondering how I could be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have suscbribed to your RSS which must do the trick! Have a nice day!
